Cast your Vote!- I need your input please;-)

Hey Family,

Yes, I know I said a few days ago was my last post - and here I am now two posts later blogging again lol! That is why I need your help!

This blog is where I started the story behind the Jewelry designer Nyblaque with all I have done and added to my crafting as well as Incorporated featuring other indie artists as well. But now that I am going on a long hiatus from making jewelry all I have to blog about right now is my scrap booking shop at Artfire where me and my daughter will be card and paper craft, my crafting classes ( the pmc and beginning blacksmith classes), the business workshops, my job hunting and some lessons learned as an online seller along the way.

When I tried blogging about these "off crafting" subjects before.. it didn't mesh with this blog -hence Meta-Soul was born. And since there is soooo much artisan talent I have seen, experienced and wanted to feature MyIndieLove was created.

In short, I want to keep my online presence for myself as well and to feature Indie talents but I don't want folks to get lost and I'm afraid I'll run out of content.

So, I put up a little blog poll you can find in the upper left side and cast your vote!- This will help me greatly to make a final decision, or you can post a comment with a suggestion of your own- you know I'd love to read what you have to say. After all we're family;-) I look forward to seeing your feedback. This poll closes 7/22/09. Thank you soo much

Shops, Sales and Event Updates

First, thank you sooooo much to alll tohose who have posted Wednesday on my blog, Facebook and Twitter. I appreciate all the love and support and encouragement you have given me then and even now- It means so much to me.

As you know I am putting my jewelry making on hold. I predict it may be for at least a year, that's my best guess. I would love to keep in touch with all of my followers and friends old and new so I encourage you to please consider following my Indie blog- http://myindielove.blogspot.com This is the original blog I started in Sept. 2008 that is devoted to all things indie. Plus it will make it easier to read your blogs too;-) I am transferring all the features and interviews I had here and will start fresh with NEW artists next week.

***********************************
My personal blog http://meta-soul.blogspot.com will basically be a blog journal about what I am going to be doing and learning in the interim until I return, as well as what I have learned these past two years as an online seller and an artist . Sure it will have some personal topics but not too many, besides - it is part of who I am, what i have become, and where I am going as a mother a woman and a crafter. You are welcome to read and share in my journey. I will be posting motivation quotes and posts there too.

As far as shops, my Bonanzle Booth and SmallIndulgence shop is already closed. My Artfire studio will remain open until I can afford to open a new shop for my daughter who wants to make and sell paper goods on her own. I have already added a "Express Yourself -Youth Collection " section with all the cards she designed and put together.

Finally, my Nyblaque shop is running a 40% off Liquidation Sale: 40% off all items till listings expire. Type "40%" in notes to seller to receive revised invoice or purchase direct for discount via Paypal. I will be posting all my Smallindugence Inventory, and my destash., and jewelry that was left over from last Sunday's fair. Any NEW jewelry and cards created will be saved for my upcoming fairs in Medford, NJ and Westchester, NY but I will show them on my Meta Soul blog.

Here are my MetaSoul and Myindielove Twitter links.
I will have a Facebook and Indiepublic Page for MyIndieLove in the near future.

Thanks for visiting;-keep in touch:-)

An Unfortunate Event

Hey family,

it is with great sadness that I am closing all my online shops indefinitely. I know this is abrupt and it seemed as if thing were really taking off but that couldn't be further from the truth. I haven't about it much on this blog..but the fact is I can't keep up with the costs versus revenue, the emotional and personal issues I am going through at home as well as trying to keep up this business for quite a while, plus my body's sudden changes that are making it too painful and stressful to vend tell me...... I need to stop.

This is sudden, but I have been praying and meditating on this for some time now. Trust me when i tell you my heart is breaking as I am typing this in tears. i LOVE what i do sooo much but i just can't hold on. So i have to do what's right for me physically and frankly financially for my children.

As I mentioned in an earlier post I have two other blogs that I will post on from time to time- you are free to follow and read them if you wish.

My Indie Blog : http://myindielove.blogspot.com

My personal journey blog : http://meta-soul.blogspot.com

This will be my last post on this blog. I will be deleting it at the end of this month.
Hope to see you guys at either of my other blogs..if not ...to all my indie crafters keep doing what you are doing. Your work is a gift..be blessed and keep crafting. I loved blogging with you all- ya'll were really a great blogger family;-) I hope you enjoyed blogging with me;-)

Crafting at the Community Fair

Hey Family,

It was a bright HOT sunny day in Co- op City on Sunday June 28th, the grounds were in their peak of lush green goodness and the trees were welcoming with lots of shade for everyone. Too bad the fair was out in the WIDE OPEN Space! But I had to hug my fav tree before heading off to the field.

I think everyone who came to vend was so busy enjoying the best weather we have had in weeks that folks set up their tables late lol. The fair was scheduled to start at 12pm. but lots of vendors were still rolling in....

But here I am all purple and pretty getting everything ready for the event. My only regret.-not bringing my 9 foot umbrella-phew!!!!-Sunscreen anyone????
So here is everything I could fit properly on two tables, one 5ft long and one 4.5ftlong. I had about 175-80 cards and 100 pieces of jewelry that were already made and supplies that were ready for an on the spot order. - Did I tell you it was hot????

I wish my photo taker walked around a little more and took some shots of the fair itself.. I did tell him I was going to blog about the event.but I guess he thought the lion dance was interesting enough.

The lion was very cute all the children watching squealed and giggled every time he batted his big green eyes;-)

Within the first 20 minutes I sold these three pairs- the Purple Chalcedony in Silver was the first pair to find a great home.
The Purple Drops in Gold Fill followed by the Ebonywood teardrops
were next. That's was pretty cool.

Yeah, I was really hot out there..

By late afternoon things got a little slow so instead of making new pieces on the spot, I decided to pass the time and file some new ear wires I made..

Being the only one sitting there with a working electric power drill in my hands at an outdoor venue (the portable power pack was under the table lol) never fails to bring attention- hee hee;-)

Six hours later- I was tired and alot tanner lol, but it as a good crowd turnout with great weather.
Sorry I didn't have more pics of the fair itself- but I'll make up for that in New Jersey at the Summer of Love Fair at Freedom Park.

Thanks for visiting,

Modern Love -Anniversary Greeting

Hey family,

I haven't gone to sleep yet. With 10 hrs till the fair later today and a custom card order I have been working up a storm!

I am going to get a few hours of sleep soon..but I wanted to post this card I just added to my ArtfireShop before I retire for the night.
At first, this is how I started the card but I didn't like the color scheme after a while....

I thought why not try black and medium olive green instead to contrast the white undertones. The love quote is inspired by the "Jerry McGuire" movie. I hope to make another one in silver.

look for this one in my Artfire shop today. I hope you love it as much as I loved making it.

Be Loving,

Ny
